California residents….
We verify residency using your California Driver’s License or AB60 License.
…with a qualifying household income…
We verify your gross annual household income using your tax transcript. If you didn’t file taxes, we can still work with you.
…who complete our online application…
This process, which includes income verification and program education requirements, can take three months or longer, depending on how quickly you complete each step and our processing times.
…and receive an Approval Letter in the mail.
You must receive an Approval Letter BEFORE you purchase a vehicle. We do not offer rebates and you cannot redeem a grant if you have purchased a vehicle before being approved.

The CVA Program has limited funding so we may not be able to give grants to everyone who is eligible. We encourage everyone to apply, and applications will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
